The TASI Data Analytics Laboratory focus is to apply computer vision and data analysis algorithms to video data obtained from automotive studies. A recent application focus is the identification and tracking of pedestrians and bicyclists in videos taken from a large scale study of natural driving. This data has been used to identify test scenarios for automatic braking and pedestrian avoidance systems in new automobiles. In addition, the data is being used to advance the state of the art using computer deep learning to model pedestrian behavior in natural driving environments.
